REAL WEDDING: Kate and Mike

How did you meet?
We’ve been together for 10 years and have known each other since we were about 14. We went to grade school in separate neighborhoods – one zip code apart. We went to the same high school and sat next to each other in history. He was the only one in the class who didn’t cheat off me! We started dating a few months after high school and have been together ever since.

How did the proposal happen?
Mike and I have spent every summer of our relationship at the Jersey Shore. One of our favorite places in the world is Cape May. We decided to go down one weekend in the off season –November 2018. We got massages at Congress Hall and he proposed to me on the beach. The weekend and the walk on the beach were my ideas so I had no idea he was going to propose! He made sure my nails were painted so I knew he was a keeper.

Why did you choose a Cescaphe Wedding?
We’ve been to multiple wonderful Cescaphe weddings and knew that we would have a fantastic event if we were able to work with them. We knew that we needed a lot of hand-holding so Cescaphe’s white-glove service solidified our choice. We both have large families who love to dance so after seeing Vie and the size of the dance floor, we were sold!

What was your favorite part about wedding planning?
My favorite part of wedding planning was spending time with my mom, mother-in-law, maid-of-honor and bridesmaids. We had so many full days of eating, drinking and laughing! I wouldn’t change it for the world!

What was your favorite part of your wedding?
The dance floor surrounded by all of our favorite people! Our DJ, Craig Konowal, was incredible! The whole place danced from the minute we were introduced until the wedding was over.

What did you do to make your wedding day extra special?
We made sure to enjoy it! Neither of us were stressed throughout the process and made sure to continue that to the day of the wedding. We relaxed, laughed, spent time with each other and danced.

What advice would you give to future brides and grooms?
When planning your timeline before the reception, give yourself extra time for everything so you’re not rushing, stressed or missing any moment. You worked hard to plan the perfect party, so make sure you’re there to enjoy cocktail hour!
