Congratulations to Lauren and Steve who tied the knot with us at Cescaphe Ballroom on December 8th, 2018! Lauren and Steve met while studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic 8 years ago. Talk about fate! We are excited to share their special love story with you!
How did you meet?
We met while studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic in 2011 during our junior year of college. We lived in the same apartment building, took the same classes, and traveled to the same cities each weekend.
How did the proposal happen?
We got engaged on our six-year anniversary. Steve made dinner reservations at one of our favorite restaurants in the West Village in NYC. This is a very special place to us as this is where we celebrated our first anniversary. Steve proposed with a Magnolia Bakery cake that said “Lauren, Will You Marry Me?” Then he arranged our families to join us for a privately catered four-course meal at the restaurant.
Why did you choose a Cescaphe Wedding?
My cousin and sister both got married at Cescaphe venues. We chose Cescaphe first of all because we loved the food selection and secondly the consistent and reliable service, and also the beautiful venues. Our families had very good experience working with Cescaphe and we knew it would be a pleasure working with the Cescaphe group for our wedding and that we would have the wedding of our dreams.
What was your favorite part about wedding planning?
Our favorite part about wedding planning was being a part of the decision-making process with all of our vendors. We enjoyed getting to work with different people and see their different vision and expertise come to life at our wedding.
What was your favorite part of your wedding?
Dancing with each other, family and friends!!!
What did you do to make your wedding day extra special?
We incorporated a choreographed first dance. We had the best time preparing and practicing months leading up to the wedding. It was so much fun showing our guests what we’ve worked so hard on together!
What advice would you give to future brides and grooms?
Our advice to future brides and grooms would be to enjoy the journey. Try your best to not get stressed out, be grateful, think big picture, and remember this whole day is about your love for each other.
