Real Wedding: Molly and Adam

How did you meet?
Adam and I met five years ago through one of my coworkers.  A week after, he coincidentally moved into the house a few doors up from me in Manayunk and within days of moving in, we were inseparable!

How did the proposal happen?
On a Sunday morning in December, Adam convinced me to get out of bed and go for a walk to try a new coffee place in East Passayunk. As we were heading towards the coffee shop, Adam stopped at the Christmas tree by the Singing Fountain and got down on one knee. It turned out that our family has been waiting in the coffee shop (for 2 hours because it took that long to convince me to get up) and had a firsthand view of the proposal.

Why did you choose a Cescaphe Wedding?
Cescaphe weddings run in my family. Both of my cousins were married at Cescaphe venues, so for me it was a no brainer. We chose Water Works because of its unique layout. I loved that we had the ability to get married outside under the pavilion, walk 10 feet and have a total different backdrop for pictures, then go inside and enjoy cocktails by the water!

What was your favorite part about wedding planning?
Selecting the different vendors was my favorite part of the wedding planning experience. We spaced out selecting vendors to make it less stressful and I loved seeing how they all came together on the big day to fulfill our wedding vision.

What was your favorite part of your wedding?
Seeing all the people we love in one place to celebrate our next chapter! Also – I can’t speak highly enough of how well we were taken care of by Cescaphe. The day of our wedding – we experienced rain, wind, sunshine – literally the weather changed every 15 minutes. The staff was prepared with umbrellas, back up plans for photos locations, and handled the situation so that I was not stressed at all. And of course, they were consistently providing me with food and drinks at all times!

What did you do to make your wedding day extra special?
For us – it was all in the details. As a special touch, we created wedding programs that combined our love story with the ceremony info through infographics. We wrote the ceremony, our own vows, and hand picked the music to make the night feel like our own.

What advice would you give to future brides and grooms?

  1. Pinterest is your friend.
  2. Dance lessons are worth it.
  3. Buy a steamer. You will need it 100% .
  4. Your personalities will shine in the little details that you add to make your wedding special.
  5. Take in every moment.
